Be or not be an entrepreneur?

During these fourteen weeks from begin my study about entrepreneurship, maybe the question that more came in my mind was – Will I be able to be a success entrepreneur? I believe that many of us, in some moment, ask himself if will be able to be a success entrepreneur – my answer is:

YES! We can!

Exist some obstacles that we need to surpass, and I choose three to talk about.

First, the most enemy that we have is the fear, fear of to fail, fear of choose wrong. Certainly, we will have difficult moments and sometimes we will wrong but, this wrong isn’t the end. A wise man said that we need to learn with our wrong and the other’s wrongs.

In Brazil we have a popular saying: When you fall down, raise and shake the dust and go ahead.

When something is wrong, learn whit it.

Second, make a point to reach. The objective or goal is a part needed in our journey like an entrepreneur.  Jesus Christ said - “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit?” and the answer is – Yes but, where will they go?  The process of establish a vision is a crucial part for a success.

A business without vision, certainly has more chance of fail.

Third, Rejoice in the journey. Will exist many moments with ups and downs and we need to learn to enjoy the journey. Dieter F. Uchtdorf talked about of an experience with his wife, he said:

“My wife, Harriet, and I love riding our bicycles. It is wonderful to get out and enjoy the beauties of nature. We have certain routes we like to bike, but we don’t pay too much attention to how far we go or how fast we travel in comparison with other riders.

However, occasionally I think we should be a bit more competitive. I even think we could get a better time or ride at a higher speed if only we pushed ourselves a little more. And then sometimes I even make the big mistake of mentioning this idea to my wonderful wife.

Her typical reaction to my suggestions of this nature is always very kind, very clear, and very direct. She smiles and says, “Dieter, it’s not a race; it’s a journey. Enjoy the moment.”

How right she is!

Sometimes in life we become so focused on the finish line that we fail to find joy in the journey. I don’t go cycling with my wife because I’m excited about finishing. I go because the experience of being with her is sweet and enjoyable.”

So, rejoice in the journey.

Partnership

During our journey like an entrepreneur will arrive a time where we need choose a partner, maybe because the business started to increase and the things not can be by himself.

I think that one of things more difficult for an entrepreneur is choose a partner. Many partnership start well but, exist much more finish because the problem between the partner. When we choose the partner, we need pay attention in our choice, because it will be a new marriage and the relationship between partner shall reflect in all aspect in the business.

I suggest bellow three tips where we need think when we will choose the partner.

First, we have more success when our partner is a person that we know. Just like in marriage, we need to know whom will work and live with us. We can more success when work somebody that we know and we have a friendship, but is not a trust absolute and, because this we need of others tips.

Second, small partnership help us to know how the partner really is. In Brazil we have a small saying – If you want to know the personality of a man, you need see him in the football field. The small partnership is a great opportunity for choose the partner.

Third and last, seek a partner by the qualities that you need to develop and that will help in the improve of business.

The partnership is created when my strong skills are join with strong skills of my partner, for create something bigger.
